TRAINS, PLANES AND AUTOMOBILES ...  Getting here is easy when you know how! 

There are various ways to get to Peterhead and the surrounding areas, so why not plan in advance so you can relax and enjoy your journey, taking in the spectacular scenery on the way.

TRAVELLING BY ROAD:

Peterhead is accessible by road from Edinburgh or Glasgow in around 3 hours. Follow the M9 north to Perth and then the A90 trunk road through Aberdeen and up to Peterhead. Alternatively if you wish to take in more of the area's scenery on your journey, once through Aberdeen, follow the A975 through Newburgh to Cruden Bay.

From Inverness, the journey takes around 3 hours; take the A96 to Fochabers, then turn left on the way out of Fochabers onto the A98 for Fraserburgh. Approximately 10 miles after Macduff, take a right turn onto the A950 through New Pitsligo and follow the signs for Peterhead.  For route planners visit www.theaa.com or www.rac.co.uk

TRAVELLING BY AIR:

Aberdeen Airport (24 hours) is situated 7 miles north west of Aberdeen city centre and is accessed from the A96 Aberdeen-Inverness road.  It offers a wide range of airlines, including several low-cost airlines. Aberdeen to Kirkwall - Ferry with Northlink - three 6 hour crossings a week between March & November

Aberdeen to Lerwick - Ferry with Northlink -  1 ferry crossing weekly with a sailing duration of approximately 12 hours
