Longside Golf Club

Peterhead Golf Club

Scotland is well known as being the home of golf, and this is reflected in the love that Scottish folk have for the game, and in the huge volume of visitors that are attracted to playing the sport in its birthplace. Golf has long been a popular pastime in this area, its scenic settings and leisurely pace suiting the Buchan way of life perfectly. The courses are amongst the finest to be found anywhere and attract visitors from all over the world as well as a considerable amount of locals.

Peterhead

Peterhead, the world's 18th oldest golf club, with its old (18 hole, par 70) and new (9 hole, par 62) courses, is a good choice.  Willie Park designed the original nine holes around 1840, and it lives up to its reputation as an extremely difficult links, well worth a visit.

Cruden Bay

Cruden Bay also boasts two courses, the 18 hole, par 70 world class championship course, consistently rated in the top fifty British Courses, is challenging even for experienced golfers, and you also have the added bonus of great sea views, or there is the not so challenging St. Olaf's 9 hole, par 64 course, ideal for those with not a lot of time to play.

Longside

Longside, five miles inland, is one of the most unlikely places to find a quality 18 hole, par 66 course, and where there is a huge contrast between the outward and inward halves.

An don't forget the many driving ranges in the area if you just want to brush up on your swing, including our very own Berryhill Driving Range on the outskirts of the town.

Within Aberdeen and Grampian Highlands there are approximately 70 golf courses to be played - visit www.golf-grampian.com for further information. Whether you are a beginner or well seasoned golfer, welcome to a golfer's heaven.
